Dr. Esra graduated in 1997 from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to being a licensed DVM, she is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA), a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) and a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist and has a special interest in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Dr. Esra practiced in Bel Air, Maryland for 18 years. There she owned her own small Animal Hospital for 14 years. During one of her recent family vacations, her family fell in love with the Jacksonville area and decided to move to Florida. Dr. Esra’s family includes her husband Gene, her son Zackary, five cats (Sniffles, Macintosh, Fearless, Raven, and Eagle), and her two dogs (Humphrey and Bogart). Her hobbies are dog agility, cooking and outdoor activities with her family.
Dr. Michelle DeLucia
Dr. Michelle DeLucia is a motivated and patient oriented veterinarian. She is a native of Jacksonville, FL. She had the dream of becoming a veterinarian since she was a small child and has volunteered at veterinary clinics and animal shelters throughout Jacksonville starting in high school. She attended and graduated valedictorian of the local high school, Bishop Kenny. From there, she attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She has had the amazing opportunity to practice veterinary medicine around the world. Dr. DeLucia practiced small animal veterinary medicine in Melbourne, Australia for two years from 2007-2009. Then, in 2016, she worked with an organization called VetTreks whose goal is the eradication of rabies virus by providing rabies vaccinations and also conducting spay/neuter clinics as a veterinary philanthropy in Kenya, Africa.
She was selected as one of Jacksonville Magazine’s “Best Vets of 2015”, was recognized as one of Leading Ladies 904 “Thirty Leading Women in Jacksonville” in 2016 and was recently invited to join the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s Dean’s Circle of Excellence.
She is a member in good standing since 2004 of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Association. In 2017, she became a Certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional and a Certified Mindfulness Practitioner.
In her spare time, one can find Dr. DeLucia traveling, beachside, practicing yoga, reading, cycling, or enjoying time with her fur family. She adores all creatures great and small, but especially her Borzoi, Luma and her Exotic Shorthair Cat, Gypsy Rose Lee.
